Welcome to The Rochester T'ai Chi Ch'uan Center

The Rochester Tai Chi Chuan Center was founded in 1982 by third generation Chen Pan-ling Master, Kai Sung and his students, with James Ransom as its first President. It was run by Director and President Jampa Mackenzie Stewart until 1990. It continues to operate as a non-for-profit educational organization to promote T'ai Chi Ch'uan and related internal arts.

T'ai Chi Ch'uan courses are offered in both William CC Chen Yang and Chen Pan-Ling forms from beginner to advanced level. Courses are also offered in Qigong, Peter Ralston’s Cheng Hsin T’ui Shou, and the martial arts legacy of Chen Pan Ling, as taught directly to us by his son, Grandmaster Chen Yun Ching.

See School Info page for class schedule, tuition and map.

Whether you are currently practicing T’ai Chi or are interested in learning more about it, we invite you to visit us during one of our scheduled Open Houses. You are also welcome to stop by during any of our class times to observe lessons in Taiji, Chen Pan Ling Martial Arts, including traditional Chinese weapons, Qi Gong, or Cheng Hsin.
